Act da Fool

A few days ago, I wrote an article about Proenza Shouler spring/summer 2011 collection. I apologies but I have to underline their interpretation and message behind it. To me, there is an obvious idolisation of the Chanel look; a fabulous and fine woman. Their own interpretation of a fulfilled urban lady.  However, when I was enjoying a nice trip on-board of the youtube spaceship (oh yeaah), I stumble across their last fall film. I found confusion in Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez philosophy.

The short film was produced for the 2010 fall, exposing the socio-economic status and picturing a delinquent woman living in the shadow of priceable clothes.  An offensive statement underlined as art.

What is your opinion on this exploitive film?

Spring/Summer 2011

Proenza Schouler

Tweet jacket walking down the catwalk, no this is no Chanel or Dior catwalk but Proenza Schouler. The two young designers honoured this classic and sincere sophisticated lady by dressing her with pastel coloured  shibori styled skirts. This could have sounded slightly mundane, but the collection  turned itself around to leave space for a new down-town girl, sulphur coloured slip-dresses, peeking out an sheer, vaporising bra designed with the architectural approach of Jean Yu. A preppy collection for all and sundry, the Proenza Schouler woman is now sophisticated, down-town girl. I can already feel the sensual, torrid New York summer by looking at this collection, and the stuffing air, in which this fresh collection will be greedily welcome.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011 collection is my favourite. It made me come back from a gratifying trip somewhere where the sun never leave its best friend the sky, somewhere far away, in a sizzling land, where tropical flowers grow and give birth to a virgin sensual colour never conceive before. The sight of waves embracing the smooth nude sand. In this paradisal place, the presence of the azure sea is graceful. I cannot ignore its peaceful self, rushing on the edge of life.

This woman,  travelled far indeed. She came back to this polluted world to give her contribution to save the world. To give her perspective of eternal beauty, of life, sex appeal and exotic perfume strange to the urban nostrils. A true beauty and joy wearing hot pants. Marc you made me wish for shorter winters and longer summers.

Trip with Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough

Proenza Schouler introduced their resort 2011 in New York. Exoticism is the word dripping out of my mouth. Bringing a vivid sense of holiday, and perhaps a faint whiff of India. This collection honours the neutral patterns and prints, keeping a sporty downtown nonchalance. The dresses are sleek and oriental with balanced shapes and sophisticate allure. All this accessorized with precious stone pendant necklace; and finished with Baja jackets.
Super-chic, I like it.

Coup de (heart) of 19/01/10

Whoa, I think I am in love with

The Proenza Schouler Brown-Bags

It just looks like a little kid’s bag but it is cool and branché at the same time...

Thank you Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, you know how to rock a bag!
