Act da Fool

A few days ago, I wrote an article about Proenza Shouler spring/summer 2011 collection. I apologies but I have to underline their interpretation and message behind it. To me, there is an obvious idolisation of the Chanel look; a fabulous and fine woman. Their own interpretation of a fulfilled urban lady.  However, when I was enjoying a nice trip on-board of the youtube spaceship (oh yeaah), I stumble across their last fall film. I found confusion in Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez philosophy.

The short film was produced for the 2010 fall, exposing the socio-economic status and picturing a delinquent woman living in the shadow of priceable clothes.  An offensive statement underlined as art.

What is your opinion on this exploitive film?

"To be brave is to love someone unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. To just give. That takes courage; because we don’t want to fall on our faces or leave ourselves open to hurt." Madonna

JOSEPH ALTUZARRA
The vicious hunters of black yetis were making their way to the catwalk, presenting their dead prey with satisfaction. The dark mass of faux-fur was gently coiffed, on their collars reflecting their glimpse of proud. Trench coats, sharp tailoring all this attached by belts; suggesting the madness and confusion of their lives. The collection was like a story.
At first hunters and then mental patients (Edward scissor hand fantasy) galloping through to finish with flowing red-blood velvet gowns. This was giving you the illusion of blood surf gorily glittering through the catwalk. This show was not my cup of tea, to gloomy and vile. This could have been a typical Givenchy’s collection; this is why, the fact that Mr Altuzarra, used to work for the house, did not surprised me at all.

No appetite, but hunger.

The aesthetic of Tom Ford, makes me hungry for more. If you have watched "A single Man", you would know what I mean.
He has an exquisite touch, where every single details are calculated to their perfection. Tom Ford the perfectionist, I call him.
Here is his new eyewear advert Fall 2010.

Tsumori Chisato

The Japanese designer, Tsumori Chisato collection fall 2010, was an overdose of manga cuteness mixed with bohemian attitude. A concept close to Vivienne Westwood style with a more Japanese bohemian aesthetic, was inspired by the sad clown broken hearted Pierrot, and by the gipsy culture and colours. This mini fairytale took over the catwalk like a circus invaded by an hippie Italian troop which brought happiness to anyone who just view it. Her clothes are simply unique and precious.

Facts about Her
Tsumori Chisato brand only started in 1990. She then took it to Paris 13 years later and has built her small empire in the united State since then. Today was the first time that I have heard of this designer and I am now sharing this golden treasure with you.

Hommage to the tall, thin Yves Saint Laurent

No, Yves Saint Laurent fall 2010 collection, was not invaded by a herd of nun which could have been the impression given because of the sober caped black forms, heads coverings and heavy chain pendants.
The title says it all,
"It's about protection,", "And partly, an homage to YSL and the rigorous tailleur" Stefano Pilati confessed after the show. He was inspired by an early collection of the previous master of YSL house; Yves Saint Laurent himself; cut in a seventies magazines.

Sophisticated and simple which dos not brings the best of the 70s silhouette
